Fernando Andrade Ribeiro de Oliveira, senior partner and founder of the law office Ribeiro de Oliveira Advogados Associados, aggrandizes with the law practice the tradition of jurists in the Ribeiro de Oliveira family. This family tradition goes back to Arthur Ribeiro, former Minister of the Supreme Court, his father Associate Justice Aprígio Ribeiro de Oliveira, former chairman of the Supreme Court of the State of Minas Gerais and his brother, Eduardo Ribeiro, former Minister of the Court of Appeals.

He graduated from the Law School of Catholic University of Minas Gerais (Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais) in 1959 and in 1981 has been awarded the PHD Diploma by the Law School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais - Public Law Section.

Practicing lawyer since 1960, he has directed his work to corporate law, having acquired a remarkable experience in the law areas of major interest to them.

This experience has become deeper and deeper through a direct contact with the administrative and executive issues of the companies. The reason for that is because, in addition to the legal consulting and administrative and judicial defenses provided by him to his clients, he also was the CEO for one of them. He was also the legal director for major companies, where he could develop a specific, specialized work.

He shared all of his knowledge, acquired through his dedication to the study and through the professional actuation, as a college professor, teaching for many years in renowned Colleges.

By 1979, he became a member of Instituto dos Advogados de Minas Gerais (Lawyers' Institute of Minas Gerais), an entity engaged in promoting the legal culture and which gathers the most representative names in the lawyer class. By 1999, he was elected vice-president for this Institute and on March, 2001, his colleagues elected him for chairman, so that he could continue the work of so many distinguished professionals who preceded him such as Pedro Aleixo, Milton Campos, Caio Mário,

He was appointed twice by OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) to occupy a position in the Supreme Court of the State of Minas Gerais and by the Federal Court of Appeals of the 1st Region to fulfill the position of Associate Justice, as a representative of lawyers.

The Government of the State of Minas Gerais, in recognition for his work, has decorated him with the Inconfidência and Santos-Dumont medals.
